The Day Biscuit Walked Again

When I first met Biscuit, she was a 13-year-old bird dog whose life had changed after one trip down the stairs.
About a year and a half earlier, Biscuit had been chasing geese at her family’s lake house when she injured herself going down the steps.
After that, she stopped walking.
She was also struggling with skin and gut issues, and her family was watching their beloved senior dog lose the strength and independence she once had.
At 13 years old, it would have been easy to assume that this was simply part of getting older.
But Biscuit wasn’t finished.
With consistent chiropractic care, we began seeing progress. It didn’t happen through one dramatic moment. It happened through patience, persistence, and continuing to support her body—even when improvement required time.
Then came the victory her family had been hoping for:
Biscuit walked again.
There is something incredibly moving about watching a senior animal reclaim a piece of herself that once appeared lost. Biscuit’s progress reminds me that age does not erase the body’s ability to respond, adapt, and become stronger.
She continues to improve with consistent care, surrounded by a family willing to keep showing up for her.
Biscuit’s story is one of resilience—but it is also a story about hope.
Sometimes progress looks like running toward something new.
Sometimes it looks like an older dog placing one paw in front of the other and walking again.
If your animal has experienced an injury, a change in mobility, or simply doesn’t seem like themselves anymore, don’t assume that age means nothing can be done.
We would be honored to become part of their care team.
